Aaron’s place is nestled in a residential area on the West bank. It was quiet and lovely. His place was clean and comfortable. Aaron was very responsive to all my questions which I really appreciated being the first time visitors to NOLA. We were also thankful that Aaron provided us with some water and snacks when we got there because the closest convenience store was not within a walking distance. We utilized the ferry a lot, which is about 10 minutes walk from his place. Make sure to have some cash on you to use this. They do have a change machine but doesn’t accept cards. Trolleys also require exact change. I found it difficult to get an Uber ride to the East bank, but Aaron suggested Lyft and that solved the problem. There are a few restaurants, coffee shops, and bars around if you don’t feel like crossing the river. Uber/Lyft ride to the East bank is about $11-13 and to the airport is about $33-37. If you love looking at pretty houses make sure to explore the Garden District. We didn’t find Bourbon St all that appealing but we are a low key couple. One advice: Bring walking shoes!
