Aaron’s place was great for our recent trip. My son and I were here for a week and oddly enough it was the coldest week of the year. They made up the beds with warm blankets and the AC/heating units worked great.
The home was a nice combination of the old world construction and jazzed up decorations with all the home comforts. Everything worked (electricity, warm water, Netflix) and the wifi/internet was fast enough for my work needs with web conferences, etc.
The neighborhood was quiet at night with minimal noise during the day, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Be mindful, it’s not close to many restaurants like in the French Quarter. The ferry is a cool feature and a short walk to go into the French Quarter but it stops around 10.
The local cafe (Tout de Suite) is closed on Monday’s and they serve good food. There’s a couple of other small bar/grills close by but with limited hours. The grocery stores are more like small corner stores so it would be helpful to rent a car if you want to go shopping.
The only thing I would change is having a needle on the record player so I could listen to the GREAT collection of old jazz records. I’m sure this is a quick fix for the owner.
