Rick’s place was exactly as expected. Safe, comfortable, clean, and in a delightful location just across the Mississippi from the French Quarter, it served as a perfect getaway from the bustle of New Orleans. Rick greeted us warmly and gave us plenty of of great tips for spots to check out in the quiet Algiers Point neighborhood and across the river in the heart of NOLA! The ferry is easy to access, runs on time consistently, and drops you off right at Canal Street, so it feels like you’re only a few blocks from the action while also being in a quiet part of town with great neighborhood bars.
Parking was free and easy at Rick’s, but also close enough to public transit options w/ a quick ferry ride and walkable enough that we almost didn’t need our rental car. Next time we’re in NOLA, we’ll be trying to book Rick’s place again without hesitation!
