Deanie’s Seafood Restaurant in the French Quarter

This place came highly recommended by locals. They give you so much food, the dinners are way too much for the average person. The catfish was so light and flaky and the breading is perfect and nicely compliments the fish! Its the best fried fish I’ve ever had! The barbecue shrimp is very good. It is not barbecue as we know it in Chicago. It is sautéed in this oily, buttery, aggressively seasoned sauce and my husband thoroughly enjoyed it! The spicy whole potatoes that they give you as a appetizer is pleasantly different from any appetizer we’ve had and they are very, very good!

If you’re looking for great Chinese food at a reasonable price you’ll love this place. Some friends and I ate here today and love it. I read all the reviews and I’m pleased to say IT’S ALL TRUE!!! We had Susan as our server and she exuded excellent service. Her drinks were made to perfection and served along with a perfect smile. The food was perfect and we can’t repeat that enough. The location true is in a strip mall, but it’s a very nice and comfy place. Here are some pics of the food we ordered and I hope this review sends more natives or visitors to this location. 1. General Tso’s Chicken with shrimp fried rice and egg roll… 2. Seafood Hot Pot… 3. Grilled Shrimp…

The Original Italian Pie

The Original Italian Pie

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the food the salad was truly amazing along with the garlic bread some of the best garlic bread ever it actually look like a personal size pizza without the sauce but the taste was very garlicky phenomenal my favorite. I have to say the location is quite dingy it could certainly use a good scrub, not the type of place I typically dine in, but I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and be open-minded. I would certainly go back there. I ate there twice in the two days that I was there, so that says a lot. It was really hard to get delivery thankfully their hotel was right across the street so we were able to walk twice one of those times was in the pouring thunderstorm that happened to be going on but it was so worth it. If you’re in New Orleans, make sure you make it to the original Italian pie. The customer service was superb, very friendly, and welcoming it was almost like being around family. Thank you for a wonderful experience

Thank you to all the wonderful people at Bellgarde Bakery for working through a pandemic, and doing the best possible job imaginable. I normally cut regular AP flour with some of your out of this world, best tasting flour, to achieve a wonderful loaf of bread, pasta, and other baked goods. I recently tried some of your macaroni and found it every bit as good as the flour you sell. I just wanted you to know how fortunate and grateful I am, for all of you at Bellgarde Bakery.

Was almost scared away from going here due to some of the reviews but so glad I went! They have a fantastic bulk section with great selection and while its definitely pricey, I enjoyed the experience of shopping here. They may have replaced some of the staff workers because every employee I came across was very friendly. The sink is certainly not dirty. I personally don’t find a 10% discount on overpriced produce appealing enough to become a member but that may not be the case for everyone. Overall, I will be going back for specific items (and the bulk section) but likely won’t be coming here for my primary grocery shopping.

Amazing place! Definitely worth eating at. The bottomless mimosas were tasty – the champagne is really strong. The atmosphere is both cozy and sophisticated, and the wait staff were friendly and fun. Mother’s Restaurant

Mother’s Restaurant

This was a great restaurant. I spent two days looking for a regular place to eat that wasn’t over the top commercialized, over priced or geared towards the experience versus the food. Mother’s is located just off the French Quarters but an easy walk from there. Their food was very good. They had a great selection of the traditional local food and the price was fair. We were able to get to plates for around $30. The dining area was really basic but comfortable enough to enjoy the meal. The staff was very helpful since I have never had creole food before and the staff was happy to help explain and show pics of their food. Also, the food was very good. The gumbo and jambalaya was the best we’ve tried so far. As you walk in they hand you a menu and you continue to the register to order your food. You order and they hand you your receipt and someone comes by and picks that up and brings your food right to you. Very simple and enjoyable.

We ended up here by accident, as a 3rd choice after other places were closed, but that worked in our favor, because this was an absolutely incredible breakfast! I got the crab cakes Benedict with hash browns, and WOW so good and so much flavor and just so delicious. I’m not normally one to say things like, “This is too much food,” but it actually WAS too much food and I couldn’t finish it, no matter how much I wanted to! My husband got the traditional breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, toast, and hash browns, and he loved his as well. I’d also say prices were fair for the amount of food you get, which is definitely not always the case in this part of the city in particular.

The service was awesome! The decor and table/chair structuring were pretty organized when we came in. My friend and I ordered the 8 Piece Mac & Cheese Bites ($8.00) and Meatball Plate with Garlic Bread ($11.00) as appetizers. For the pizza, we ordered the 10″ (which is a small) Felicity Pizza ($14.00). This pizza included garlic butter sauce, artichoke, mushrooms, and other sorts of veggies. All of our foods were made fresh and had good portions for the price. Again, I want to emphasize how great the service was! They were really welcoming to us, especially considering that we were POC customers. Our server also got us complimentary cups of water for to go since it’s really hot and humid in Louisiana these days. I’d recommend this place if you and your friends are craving some pizza or pasta!

Stopped in before a Pelicans game and very impressed with the decor and space. Deceptively big with lots of seating. Unfortunately, it was early on in their opening, so it was clear the service was still catching up to the demand. The beer (and cocktail) options were very good. The food was also surprisingly good; the salad was average but the chicken sandwich and fries were very tasty. We sat in a corner and it was pretty loud, so not the best spot for a dinner on date night. But for a game day atmosphere, this certainly has the location and seating to be a fun stop in before, during, or after a game.

We also happen to be there for restaurant week, so of course, we tried the restaurant week menu. Everything was amazing. When I tell y’all that this gumbo is better than any other I’ve ever had, including my Cajun grandma’s, I’m not lying… (just don’t tell her I said that!) This is my favorite place to bring friends from out-of-town. The gumbo is absolutely delicious with a good serving size. My go-to entree is the spaghetti, with the egg on the side. The Black Forest cake is my favorite dessert I’ve tried here so far but be warned – it is RICH. If you aren’t a sweet lover, try their tart of the season (they do rotate dessert options). I always like to call out places that are accommodating to my fish allergy. The hosts at Herbsaint always offer to seat me outside, if able, and alert the servers beforehand to recommend dishes that are fish-free. Their excellent customer service is always appreciated!
