The location was great – an easy walk to both

The location was great – an easy walk to both Bourbon and Frenchmen streets for plenty of live music/nightlife, but far enough away that it was fairly quiet. There was some loud neighbors over the weekend, but mostly just folks coming back from bars that quieted down as they settled in.
We were in a unit on the first floor and we could hear people (possibly a cleaning crew one day) walking around the upstairs unit quite clearly. Didn’t seem like they were intentionally being loud, just old buildings with limited/no sound proofing.
We had a little trouble getting in the gate at first until we realized the door handle needed to turn up, but overall their instructions for getting into the unit were quite thorough and clear.
There was a shattered door handle to the bathroom that I would recommend they fix as it was quite sharp and unpleasant if you forgot and grabbed it as you normally would. Otherwise the unit was clean, warm (it was cold when we visited) and a lovely stay.
