Neighborhood

Steps to Endymion and Zulu Parades during Mardi Gras!

North of the noise and saturated color of the Quarter is a New Orleans neighborhood that’s perfected the art of living. “Welcome to Mid-City,” read the signs on the neutral ground. And that’s truth in advertising. It’s the kind of place where your auto mechanic invites you to a crawfish boil and a total stranger may buy you a drink at an Irish pub or a cannoli at an Italian bakery. Take the red streetcar line up Canal to the Cemeteries (Mid-City’s dead neighbors are as interesting as the live ones) or bike the new 2.6-mile-long Lafitte Greenway that stretches from Basin Street to Carrollton Avenue and, conveniently, past a po’ boy shop or two – or 17 – with a sno-ball shop and a micro-brewery thrown in for good measure. Buttermilk biscuits. Live music. A bowl of Vietnamese pho. Who wouldn’t want to visit? Eat. Drink. Get up here.
If you have any questions about the neighborhood, please send us a message!

Guests will have exclusive access to the entire unit (entire bottom unit of a two-story duplex) including living room, kitchen, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, laundry, and private patio area. Super quiet neighborhood, which was important since I was working nights. The house was just as described, clean and easy to get into. Host was responsive and let me check in early as well as extend another night. I highly recommend staying here on your trip to New Orleans.

Great dog friendly place to stay! Walking distance to 2 dog friendly restaurants/bars, quiet safe neighborhood. And so great to catch the street car to the quarter right across the street! Thank you for a great place!

This is the perfect location if you do not want to be in the heart of the happenings in the FQ, but you want to get there quickly. The street car visible from the front door makes fun, iconic locations easily accessible.
Our main complaint was the noise. The garbage trucks came early in the morning (0’dark:30) and street traffic could be heard. The neighbors upstairs were definitely just living out an ordinary day, but could be heard walking around, entering, and exiting the suite. That may just be the nature of an older home.
This suite is perfect for two, comfortable bed, spacious kitchen that had almost everything you would need for cooking, lovely little living space and nice bathroom.
We were very pleased with the stay.

Stayed here, literally booked the day off and it was exactly what we needed for a spontaneous last minute get away WITH our dogs without being overcharged, MAJOR plus. Didn’t feel unsafe in the neighborhood at all, I would stay here again.
Thanks for hosting us!
